How to make garden box. Since our new home is right downtown our yard is quite small. A raised garden bed essentially a large planting box is the ultimate problem solver. Repeat the process for the second 6 foot by 3 foot box.
To make a garden box you will first have to clear the area that you plan to put the box then assemble the box and finally add soil to plant your vegetables in. Next cut 2x4 lumber into 2 long sides and 2 short sides for your box. It offers perfect drainage protection from pests and easy access to crops.

The 2 by 8 planks are actually 1 5 by about 7 resulting in a height of the garden box of about 14. Then dig holes for the posts where you want your box to go or simply place them on top of the soil if you want your box raised higher. Make your bed as long as you like or build multiple raised beds for different crops.
Take the remaining 4 foot pieces and repeat the same steps as above to create the 4 foot by four foot garden box you see in our pictures. I love the 100 year old trees in our new home but it created a tricky situation with deciding where to put our garden. Planter boxes make gardening easy no matter what size yard.
